Uruguay striker Luis Suarez has scored a lot of important goals for Atletico Madrid in the Spanish top flight since his transfer to the capital last summer and he scored two more during the re-arranged league match at Eibar on Thursday night. Luis Suarez was responsible for both Atletico Madrid goals as the La Liga leaders came from conceding an early penalty to secure three points against Eibar and also extend their lead over city rivals Real Madrid at the La Liga summit. Luis Suarez scored twice either side of the break to lead Atletico Madrid to a 2-1 victory away from home.

Atletico Madrid conceded the first goal of the game when Serbian goalkeeper Marko Dimitrov scored from the penalty spot on 12 minutes. Eibar led until the final five minutes of the first half when the impressive Luis Suarez charged down a clearance from Eibar midfielder Sergio Alvarez before netting the equaliser for the away team. Luis Suarez scored the first of his two goals on 40 minutes. Atletico Madrid left it late to take all three points after Luis Suarez won and scored the penalty that gave the leaders all the three points. Luis Suarez was fouled by AnaitzArbilla with one minute left on the clock before he produced a cheeky finish from the resulting penalty to give Atletico Madrid all three points.

Atletico Madrid striker Luis Suarez was one of the nominees on the Puskas Award list released by world football’s governing body, FIFA earlier in the week. The Puskas Award caters to the best goals scored during the course of the year.Luis Suarez was one of the 11 nominees that made list announced on Thursday as far as the latest edition of the Puskas Award is concerned. The nominees for the 2020 Puskas Award were picked by a panel made up of football experts.

Luis Suarez made the list for the backheel lob scored in the colours of during the Spanish La Liga clash with Real Mallorca in December 2019. Apart from Luis Suarez, Tottenham Hotspur attacker Son Heung-Min, Manchester City Women star Caroline Weir, Sophie Ingie of Chelsea Women FC and Leonel Quinonez  of CSD Macara in the Ecuadorian league all made the list of nominees for the 2020 Puskas Award. Luis Suarez is of the opinion Liverpool’s condition right now is pretty different from what it was when he was associated with them. During the time Suarez featured for Liverpool, he was one of their most successful players and in the stint of the Uruguayan, the Reds were within the touching distance of the Premiership title, but eventually ended up being denied by Manchester City.

The situation is pretty much like that this season too as they are again in a close battle with City, but according to Suarez, the difference with this team that Liverpool has currently got is that they are actually good enough to clinch the league. Barcelona fell to a disappointing 4-3 loss to Real Betis at the Nou Camp on Sunday evening and have seen their lead on the top of the La Liga table closed down to just a point.

The Blaugrana seemed out of touch throughout the game and they’ll be kicking themselves for failing to turn the tie around after falling two goals behind very early in the game.

Luis Suarez – His Game Strategy Which Goes From Less To More

Luis Suarez is not only known for his playing skills as a footballer but also renowned as he believes in going from less to more and has the best confidence in his technical team as well as his teammates of Barcelona. Suarez has successfully played around 200 games out of which he won 150 games, 26 draws and 24 losses with 77 assists and 150 goals. He has played for more than 17,000 minutes since October 2014 when he made his debut at the Santiago Bernabeu against Real Madrid.

Suarez entered his 5th season with the club and the contract is valid till 2021. Ernesto Valverde said that the No 9 of Barca generally starts slow but Suarez ensures that it all shapes up well. The 31year old started late in 2014-15 as there was a FIFA ban and a month post his debut first goal was scored against Apoel in Champions League win. It took place in Cyprus and he successfully scored around 25 goals in that season.

Suarez Yet To Score CL Goal In One Year

Barcelona striker Luis Suarez is yet to score his first Champions League goal in one year. The Uruguayan is needed when the Catalan side hosts Chelsea in the return leg fixture of the Champions League. The knockout game is one that promises to be exciting, with lots of sentiments involved. However, Barcelona might not hope on Suarez to score because he hasn’t in the past one year.

Suarez is yet to score in his last nine games in the competition. He last scored in the famous 6-1 comeback victory over Paris St Germain on March 8, 2017. While he has been impressive in league outings last term and this term, he has not been able to replicate such in the continental tournament.
