SUAREZ BREAKS RECORD WITH BARCELONA SURPRISE LOSS

Barcelona were shocked by their 2-1 loss to Deportivo during their trip to Estadio Riazor.

Luis Suarez had set-up the La Liga defending champions for a victory when he netted first but goals from Joselu and Alex Bergantinos ensured Barca got their third loss of the season.

The result ends the seven-game winning run of Barcelona in the league. It is surprising, considering that the team just produced the greatest comeback ever in the continent in the return leg against PSG.

Aside the painful loss for the club, Suarez would be hurt to see one of his stellar records gone. Before the game, the Uruguay international won every game that he scored in. It was one of the most astonishing records for Suarez since his 2013 move to Camp Nou.

Before the Deportivo clash, Suarez has scored in 72 games for Barcelona. In those games, the club has gone on to win 67 times while playing a draw in the rest. This meant that anytime Suarez scored, Barcelona would get something from the game, at the very least.

Deportivo have sure destroyed the record aside hurting their La Liga defence this term. The result sends Real Madrid back to the top – courtesy of goals from Sergio Ramos – and with 11 games remaining, every point counts in the countdown.

Suarez last lost a game he scored in four years ago when he was in a Liverpool shirt. He scored in the match but he could not stop the team from losing 3-2 to Oldham. He scored in over 205 games for Ajax and Liverpool, but the team ended up losing only 14. This means scoring for Suarez is a good luck charm to avoid a loss.

Barcelona would have to pick themselves up and hope Real slip as well as the campaign winds down fast.
